Diversified Hot
Rock Chair Massage is an experience beyond the ordinary. The use of
heated basalt rocks is nurturing at points and then intense,
stimulating and enriching at other points. The levels of relaxation
and comfort are of the quality found in Spa facilities. The
physical-mental-emotional revitalization is immediately evident in
this new treatment. Which explains why Hot Rock Chair Massage is
quickly sweeping the nation and has already made its way to other
countries.
At trade shows and exhibitions,
clients are lining up and paying in advance to have treatments
performed. The pleased looks on client’s faces are a testament to
the hot stone treatments and to the training received by the
therapists. Each therapist is encouraged to use their creativity
while addressing the needs of the client.
For example, clients have received
intricate work on their hands, penetrating heat directly to neck and
shoulders and detailed work on the lower back. Aromatherapy is
easily and powerfully incorporated when placed on a hot stone. When
it appears that all the techniques have been seen, the creator and
expert of Diversified Hot Rock Chair Massage (Wyman Hall-Walker)
displays something more. He begins a session on a client’s upper
body. When this is complete, he repositions his client in the chair
and finishes the session with hot stone work on the legs and feet,
giving the client a total body experience.
Benefits to Clients
The stones and their warming have a positive impact on
circulation and respiration during sessions. Promoting greater
levels of oxygen in the blood and increased blood circulation to the
areas addressed. Massage therapists who prefer to focus on the
physical benefits will enjoy the manner in which the heat melts the
client’s muscular tension. Therapists are discovering mental
benefits for clients that are found in the deep levels of relaxation
at which clients quickly arrive. Still other therapists prefer an
energetic approach, and they will appreciate how the energy of the
stones will work with clients on subtle levels.
Benefits to Therapists
There are multiple benefits to the massage therapist
skilled in this training. The therapist personally experiences less
stress on their body, allowing them to work with a greater sense of
comfort and ease. This will help to lengthen the career of the
therapist.
Professionally the therapist has an
opportunity to provide a vibrant new experience for clients; an
opportunity to attract new clients with this service; an opportunity
to introduce Diversified Hot Rock Chair Massage and extend Hot Rock
Table Massage to clients pleased with the chair experience.
A Diversified Hot Rock Chair
therapist related, “One client was so happy with their Hot Rock
Chair Massage, that they kept making these long, contented sighs
during the session. At the end, they told me that they also worked
as a massage therapist. And insisted on knowing where to sign up for
training!”
The Stones
Eighteen stones are used in Diversified Hot Rock Chair
Massage. The stones are chosen for specific purposes, properties and
characteristics.
The first stone presented in a
session is intended to draw the client in, and to build a
relationship that will work on multiple levels, and last throughout
the session. A second stone is utilized as a means of grounding the
client during the session.
A group of twelve separate stones are
used on the upper back and neck in various configurations [at
different points in the session]. At times the stones are applied to
the bare skin where the penetrating heat can be used to its best
advantage.
One pair of stones is specially
selected to work in tandem during the session. This pair of stones
focuses on warming the body and preparing the client for deeper
work. The deepest work is often done by the Accupressure Stone,
selected for its ability to bring relaxing heat to bear in specific
areas.
