Introducing the EuroStone Facial by Essensa
Would you like to give your Estheticians a service that would equal the "hot" rock massage?

Introducing the EuroStone Facial by Essensa®.

Bookings are on the increase for the "Hot" Rock Massage - and why not?  They feel great! But DON'T turn anyone away! Add the EuroStone Facial and additional staff that can keep your clients happy.

I often judge a "great" massage by four things, work done on my hands, my feet, and my face and finally, do I feel relaxed and revitalized over all.  The EuroStone Facial can accomplish all that, and it's easy to move making it great for room service or any available space.

The treatment follows the classical European facial, but adds the massage with "hot" stones, feeling like fingers only hot.  We have to use much smaller stones for working around the face.  Hematite is a very dense stone high in iron (metal).  It is said to be paramagnetic and becomes slightly magnetic when heated.  Because of this composition these stones retain their heat, even when small, and work best for small spaces.  The EuroStone Facial includes a few semi-precious stones, like amethysts, jade and turquoise.  These colored stones are used over their corresponding chakra centers.

Four out of the seven chakras are found in the upper body and many key pressure points (Oriental) or Marma points (Ayurvedic) are located in the head making this treatment maybe more relaxing and therapeutic than a full body.

Some of the major complaints after traveling can be head pressure, due to sinus or change of climate; dryness or dehydration from flying; eyestrain and sore feet.  Packing, traffic, delays, keeping to a schedule are very Yang and increase already existing stress.  By using essential oils chosen to help hydrate and revitalize the cells, we "kill two birds (I mean things) with one stone".  Using only medicinal grade oils we work though the skin affecting every cell in the body and through the olfactory bulb going directly to the brain, providing that very pleasing sense of well being.

What you need...

We have two sets of stones for the face.  The first set is used for massaging, after you have cleansed and exfoliated.  The 2nd set is placed over a thin layer of volcanic mud mask then covered with a warm compress to help hold heat. A smaller set of stones for the toes and a few slightly larger, (3-4 inch) for the hands, neck and ankle.  Semi-precious stones are placed over chakra centers at the beginning and end of treatment.  The stones can be packed into a divided tray that fits into a watertight container and then into an insulated bag.  Keeping them warm and easy to move.

How to begin...

It is important to help your client feel comfortable and prepared.  Starting at the very top of the head, or Crown Point, gently begin to massage.  If your spa uses the oriental motif, use gentle press and release techniques, if you are working with Ayurvedic methods, use gentle clockwise spirals in and out.  Ask your client to breathe deeply.  This helps to clear tension and improve mental clarity.  This point is where blood vessels, nerves and lymphatics meet.  The head is considered the positive pole (Yang) and of the body and the feet the negative pole (Yin).  By working on both centers you help to bring balance to the person.  Next, move to the center, holding your left hand on the head and right on the belly area, gently rock your right hand.  This is the neutral area and is very calming and reassuring.  Continue working down towards the feet, moving your left hand to the belly and the right to just below the knee.  This is helping bring excess Yang energy down from the head region to the legs, bringing strength and stamina.  Last, stand at the foot of the client and place your hands over the tops of the ankles, with gentle pressure on the inside, just under the anklebone, lean into the client.  This directs the balancing Yin energy, back up towards the head.

You can now begin the skin care treatment. Cleanse and remove with compresses soaked in aromatic water.

While exfoliating, (steam optional) massage feet and slip the hot stones between the toes.  Be careful that they are not too hot.  Remove mask with compresses.

Apply the Algo Essense. Now you are ready to begin the massage with your chosen essential oil blend.  Start the massage at the point found between the eyes call the Yintang. This point helps to shift stagnant Qi and clear headaches.  As stone begin to cool, lay them around the collarbone and choose new ones.  Continue using your stones and laying them in key points along the face.  To finish, clear the stones and use the wand shape, one hot (Yang) and one cold (Yin).  This is so good for the circulation.  Move the cold first with the hot following, this immediately takes away the shock of the cold, but leaves all the senses vibrant.  I chose to use a set of carved jade, and the slight texture feels wonderful.

Next you apply the finishing mask of Volcanic Mud and place the hot stones over the mask, wrap with a warm compress, if you have added therapeutic oils to the mask leave for only 3 minutes.  Remove with compress and apply finishing cream.

Well, are you ready to sign up?  I am!  Your client should feel more grounded and very restful.  If they had congestion or sinus pressure this may begin to drain.  Puffiness and tension lines around the eyes will diminish, and the skin will have a hydrated and refreshed glow.  Your guest is now ready for a nap or a good night sleep and then on to a great holiday.
